The collegiate church of San Cosme and San Damián was built from
a previous Romanesque church. The new one is from the XV century
and is Gothic in style. It has a Latin cross floor plan and three
naves and Galician cross. In the presbytery the count of Fernán
González and his wife Doña Sancha can be found,
a Hispanic-Roman tomb from the IV century. In the cloister is
the Gothic tomb of princess Cristina de Noruega, first wife of
prince Felipe, brother of Alfonso X the Wise. Worthy of note in
the church is the main Baroque reredo and organ from the XVII
century. There are a great variety of reglious works of art: Romanesque
capitals, panels by Berruguete, Van Eyck, precious metalwork by
the famous master Calahorra, liturgical vestments from the XVI
to XVIII century and the extraordinary triptych of the Adoration
of the Magi, anonymous carving but with clear Flemish influence.
