Ubeda
In Úbeda the splendour of the Renaissance is relived in its traditions and fiestas. Beginning in January a group of restaurants and taverns prepares specialty menus based on the typical cuisine of the Renaissance. It can be a good excuse to come to this beautiful city which also celebrates one of the best carnivals in the province of Jaén and a well attended pilgrimage to a sanctuary in a sea of olive trees in honour of the city’s patron saint. This fiesta blends with those of La Cruz when the historic city centre is covered with crosses giving the streets a distinctive and picturesque character.
