Bedman y garciez
Legend has it that the Señora y madre de Sierra mágina nickname of the Virgin of cuadros healed the sick with the most famous miracles being the curing of the mute. In her honour, the village of Bedmar observes her pilgrimage, which is different from most in that for the more than four kilometres of distance separating the village from the temple the Virgin returns to her hermitage carried on the shoulders of women. Along the way the pilgrims pass out traditional oil cakes with chocolate which sweeten the path of the pilgrims. Without a doubt taking part in a pilgrimage whose observance dates to the sixteenth century is a perfect excuse for exploring an exceptionally beautiful spot in the Sierra mágina. It is not just natural charms that will attract your attention, though. See the parish church of Nuestra señora de la Asunción built between the fifteenth and eighteenth centuries, the Bedmar Castle, which has been designed a Historic Monument and the Marqueses de Viana Palace.
