Time: Six hours. From Güéjar- Sierra town a track makes its way up to the river. This track runs on sometimes near the river, other times farther from it. After an hour´s walk we shall find a junction that, to the left, makes its way to the Refugio (shelter) of the Vadillo, but we musn´t take it. Walking on upwards, there is a spectacular view of the Corra de Veleta,
with its steep walls and the river Guarnón. When approaching river
Genil, there are some signals on the rocks towards Cueva Secreta, a natural
shelter used by sheperds and mountaineers. Crossing Valdeinfierno´s
brood, and after a sharp ascent, we shall arrive at a place known as the
Madaja de Palo, where our way ends and we can settle our tents. Granada trekking routes |
