Granada trekking routes Diezma


Sierra de Huétor. Diezma- Peza. Granada trekking routes

Time: Two hours.

Sierra de Huétor is northeast of Granada town, and is between 1100 and 1675 m. high.

Diezma, with its 1233 m. is known as "Sierra Nevada´s mirador" for its incredible views from the top.

Walking on from Huétor- Santillán along the national road nº 342 near the town. We shall take a road to the right wich, a few km. farther, gets to La Peza. We shall make our way along it towards a junction which we shall take to the left, crossing an olive grove and going past Los Alamillos farmhouse.

Farther, we find two tracks again. Taking the one to the left, we shall pass through Campillo´s hillock, where a lane leads to La Peza. This area has got spots of oak trees, holm oaks and maples, which together with the gall oaks in the highest area and the conifers, shape the arboreal map of the area.
