Aznalcazar
Aznalcazar lies between El Aljarafe and La Marisma , in the region
called the Environs of Doñana, and overlooks the river
meadows of the Guadiamar. Its location makes it an ideal place
to rent one of the numerous rural houses and enjoy a weekend close
to the countryside of Andalusia.
Organise horseback, all-terrain vehicle of hiking trips…to
get to intimately know the Doñana national Park and the
Green Corridor of the Guadiamar. If you go to the Visitor’s
Centre you will receive all kinds of facilities to help you explore
this unique and now rehabilitated landscape from the Aznalcollar
mines to the tidal marshes of the guadalquivir. If you have a
good pair of legs you can travel over it in a cross-country race
that is held every march. In this village you can also witness
one of the most moving images of the Rocio: the passage of the
brotherhoods en route to Almonte over the La Quema ford. But for
imagery it is hard to surpass that of the hundreds of cattle that
each year are driven from the open grazing lands to the estate
of Cerrado Garrido.
