Catedral de Nuestra Señora de la Merced

This building with a Renaissance façade was erected in 1605 and proclaimed a cathedral in 1953. It houses a sculpture of Christ from Jerusalem and a beautiful portrayal of the Virgin with a ribbon, the patron saint of the town, by Martínez Montañés.

Monument to Colón
Punta del Sebo
At one end of the town, on a spit of land shaped by the Rivers Tinto and Odiel and called Punta del Sebo, stands a large sculpture of Cristóbal Colón of the American artist Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney (1929).
