Fuenteherido was known as The Fountain for the enormous stream
of water that has always surfaced there and even the local patron
saint whose fiesta is celebrated on 15 August took the name virgin
of the Fountain. Another distinctive fiesta is the Carro Fiesta
during the Corpus weekend, the day in which the young people prepare
a cart to take to the neighbouring village of Navahermosa, which
celebrates its great fiesta during those days. This can be a wonderful
place for relaxing, especially if you stay in the Finca Buen Vino,
hidden in the brush country of the los Marines Nature Park only
a few kilometres from the historic city centre. It has a strictly
rural and family ambience. If there is no accommodations don´t
worry; in Fuenteheridos there are rural houses all about to be
used as bases for planning excursions through the Sierra de Aracena
y Picos de Aroche Nature Park.
