
Cadiz Natural Reserves
Bahía de Cádiz natural park
This central area on the Atlantic coast of Cadiz stretches some
10,000 hectares. The special ecological characteristics of this
wet zone are due to its proximity to the ocean and the mild Mediterranean
climate.
Acantilado y Pinar de Barbate Natural Park
The Acantilado y Pinar de Barbate naturl park looks out onto the
Atlantic and over time the easterly winds have shaped it's landscape.
Its pine forest stretches down to the coast and is marked by impressive
cliffs.
Los Alcornocales Natural Park
Los Alcornocales natural park contains the greatest amount of
cork trees (alcornoques) of the Iberian Peninsula and of the world.
This park is in between the provinces of Cadiz and Malaga.
Sierra de Grazalema natural park
A declared Reserve of the Biosphere by UNESCO, this park to the
northeast of Cadiz and to the northwest of Malaga, has the best
Spanish fir in the country. It fluctuates between an altitude
of 250 and 1654m above sea level.
Natural Place Cola del Embalse de Arcos
This natural park is a beautiful place on route to Pueblos Blancos
a few kilometers from Arcos de la Frontera. It has great ornithological
value because it is a prime area for birds to build their nests
during winter.
Natural Monuments in Cádiz province.
These natural areas and monuments in Cádiz, such as the
Tómbolo of Trafalgar, the Corrals of Rota and the Bolonia
Dune, are known for their rare beauty and should have official
recognition.
Natural Place Los Lances Beach
This beach has great ecological importance because many different
species of birds gather here to wait for suitable wind conditions
to cross the strip of water between the Straits of Gibraltar and
the African coast.
