using TerraCottem. The plan for the Benalup Golf golf course was
designed by the well known golfing architect, Baron Paul Rolin.
The fairways and greens have been set up in an ecologically responsible
way in this lightly forested area. The 18 hole golf course has
many water obstacles.
Benalup Golf has a splendid view of the 'Laguna de la Janda',
an enormous plain where the lake once was. In clear weather you

Club de Golf La Cañada
La Cañada was the first public golf course
on the Costa of the Sol. It is located in a raised part of Guadiaro,
a place with proportionally the highest number of amateur golfers
in Spain.
The extension to the course, which currently forms the first nine
holes, was designed by the architect Dave Thomas. The designer
of the second nine holes (previously the first nine) was Robert
Trent Jones, who also designed the neighbouring courses of Valderrama
and Real Club de Golf Sotogrande.
It is a pleasant and varied round, with excellent views. The terrain
is not flat but the slopes are gentle. The main features are the
excellently maintained greens, a large number of trees, mainly
made up of indigenous species, and the gully (“cañada”)
on the 18th which gives the course its name.

Costa Ballena Club de Golf
José María Olazábal was the
brains behind the design of this 27-hole course situated on the
coast of the province of Cadiz, covering an area of more than
400 hectares and belonging to two different municipalities, Rota
and Chipiona.
It is a course with wide and very versatile tees and so the game
can be enjoyed by both professional players and those with a lower
level of golf. The round is comfortable and there is plenty of
water.

Golf El Puerto
An 18-hole course with a character and identity
all its own, where the surface water and natural dips in the terrain
have been turned into lakes and streams.
Not without its difficulties but nonetheless enjoyable and suitable
for players of all levels. No blind shots. The holes are protected
by the lakes, streams and trees.
Basically, a thoroughly enjoyable course in a city
full of attractions. The result of the work of Manuel Piñero
and his team is a course which is sufficiently long, measuring
more than 6,300 metres in total.

Real Club de Golf Sotogrande
The Real Club de Sotogrande has marvellous 18-hole
course and one of 9 par-3’s, but its most outstanding feature
is its natural beauty, and the wonderful climate which makes it
possible to play all year round. It was inaugurated in 1964 and,
like the course at Valderrama, was designed by Robert Trent Jones.
The variety of vegetation which gives this course a very special
feeling; it is covered by cork trees, pines and eucalyptus which
apart from adding beauty to the course can make for quite a tricky
round.
The course is situated in Sotogrande, in Cádiz,
and offers views out over the sea. The main hazards on the course,
apart from the trees, are the big lakes, where the water will
significantly complicate the game and makes this an extremely
entertaining round.

Valderrama
The Valderrama Golf Club was the venue for the 1997
Ryder Cup, where victory fortunately went to the European team,
but it is not this victory which gives the course its fame, but
the spectacular round which makes the Valderrama the best course
in Europe.
Every last detail has been thought of and taken care of. The fairways
were designed with the greatest of care and precision and contain
over 100 bunkers.
The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones and
improvements have been carried out over the years due to the top-level
competitions which have been hosted here.
