General information
The Principality of Asturias is situated to the northwest of Spain, the littoral is bathed by the Cantabrian sea
Asturias borders in the northern part on the Cantabrian sea, in the western part on Galicia, on Cantabria in the east, and in the southern part on Castile and León.
We can see two zones clearly differentiated. The littoral, with
its sheer cliff faces and its beautiful beaches and the Cantabrian
mountain chain, which marks the natural border between Asturias
and Castile and León. In this one we can find the highest peaks
in the "Picos de Europa" with 2.648 metres.With summits like Peña
Santa , Torre Cerredo, and Naranco de Bulnes.
Among the rivers that bathe Asturias the most importants are the Deva, the Sella, the Nalón, the Navía and the Eo.
