Puente Genil
Julius Caesar would liked to see Holy week in Puente Genil, which has been designated of National Tourist Interest and where the Passion of Christ is relived through the efforts of hundreds of people, with productions from the Old and New Testaments, and where the Roman Empire is portrayed in all its splendour in its “Roman Saturdays”.
This century old tradition consists in the arrival of the Romans
to the Place of Calvary to honour the “Terrible” with
their music and to generously share a little of the local wine
while they sing a martial tune.
