General information
Placed in the North-East of Spain, Aragon is called to play a
decisive role between the south European regions. With 136 kilometres
of border with France, it is the central door to Europe from Spain
and Portugal.
With a surface of more than 47 500 Km2 , Aragon is larger than
any other European countries such as Denmark, Holland or Switzerland.The
strategic location of Aragon turns this region into a natural
link between two of the most important development geographic
zones of Europe: The Atlantic Ocean zone and the Mediterranean
one.
Known especially for having in its territory most of the Clump
Pirenaico, with five Ski resorts and the National Park of Ordesa
and Monte Perdido, winter and the adventure sports, nature tourism
can be practised also in the Universal Mounts and in the Gúdar-Javalambre
mountain chain, placed in the spurs of the Iberian System.
The cultural Tourism is different of the principal attractions
of Aragon, which relies on the richest patrimony accumulated throughout
the centuries. The Monastery of “San Juan de la Peña”,
symbol of the birth of the Christian kingdom, and the –“Aljafería”
of Zaragoza, one of the most important Arab vestiges of Spain.(
