The Call
The steep narrow streets surrounding the carrer
La Forįa housed the Jewish community of the city of Girona in
medieval times. The Jews exercised a great influence here and
projected their skills and knowledge far beyond Girona limits.
The life of the "Aljama" was concentrated around the synagoge
which had various different locations. The visitor can go up Isaac
el Cec, a complex of buildings at the hearth of the jewish borough,
with a highly symbolical meaning to Jewry.
