As is the case with the rest of the villages in the Genal
Valley, Jubrique stands on mountainous terrain, its streets
and houses adapted to the uneven land on which they were
built, thus creating the architectural layout so typical
of La Serrania de Ronda area.
History
As is the case with most of the villages in this area of
La Serrania de Ronda, Jubrique appeared as a result of the
existence of a farm in the area during the Andalusi-Arabic
period. Later, like its neighbours, it was conquered by
Christian armies.
In this days village is the result of a growth in population in the 18th
century.
