Sierra de Aracena. Santa Ana- Castaño del Robledo. Huelva trekking routes

Time: Three hours.

We shall leave Santa Ana towards Alájar. When reaching the bridge, we shall walk on to the towards the gorge crossed by an old track called El Cataño, initially in a very bad condition, but improving farther on.

We shall ascend in order to cross an area wooded with oaks until reaching some orchards where we can easily get lost. We must walk on northwards all the time.

Once at the top of a hill 786 m. high, we shall enter an area of chestnuts and fern of contrasting verdure compared to the southern area of the mountains we have walked through, richer in oak groves typical of the Mediterranean forest.

After a soft descent we shall arrive at the orchards in the outskirts of Castaño´s village.
