Time: Six hours. We shall take the national road along a strech of about 15 km. Which goes from Guadix to Baza. Then we take a forest track wich branches off to the right of the road. Walking on along this track, and leaving behind a junction on the left, we shall arrive at a farmhouse where there is a camping- site. The track has its origin in the mining activity. There are several abandoned pits anlong native black pine trees of great beauty. The farmland, the forest and the gritty area live together in harmony and peace. The track leads to a town, the Collado de Narváez, surrounded by beautiful meadows, from where, walking up on towards the east, we shall reach the top in a hour. Santa Barbara´s peak in the highest in Sierra de Baza. Its ascent
requires choosing the most comfortable track, in many ocassions far from
the shortest lane to the top. Granada trekking routes
