Sierra Nevada. Refugio (shelter) de Caballo. Refugio de
Elorrieta. Granada trekking routes
Time: Two hours and a half.
Going to the north and round the Laguna (tarn) de Caballo, there is a
lane which makes its way through the valley. Along its final strech, the
lane becomes very narrow and difficult to walk through.
Leaving the tarn to the left, we shall walk on along the lane, going
past the remains of the Refugio ( shelter) Peñón Colorado,
and then along a winding track. A bit farther we shall arrive, without
difficulty, at the Refugio de Elorrieta, a stony landscape where there
are small moonshaped tarns.
