Cordoba Fiestas
The Holy Week has barely ended when the residents of Córdoba begin to prepare for May and to recive thousands of visitors to be charmed by geranium-decked Andalusian patios where the door is never clsed to a passing friend.
In the first days of the month, the May Crosses are put in place
and adorned with flowers, flowerpots and embroidered silk shawls.
On each is installed a counter offering food and drink to the
visitors who can also watch flamenco shows.
After the Crosses comes the Patios Fiesta when more than fisty
patios are decarated with their best flowers to complete in beauty
and originality. You will never find two patios that are the same.
Their whitewashed walls are covered with jasmines and honeysuckle,pots
of geranious, gitanilla,carnations and roses.
This splendid fiesta is followed by the Nuestra Señora
de la Salud Fair. Bull races, contest, theatre, flamenco singing,
horses and everything the vositor can imagine to be enjoyed.
